Naruto was created by Masashi Kishimoto and is an ongoing and very popular Japanese anime. It has been dubbed in english and aired in North America, however, most fans including myself prefer the Japanese subbed version that can be watched online.
The Naruto franchise is also available in written form, otherwise known as “manga”. It is one of the best selling manga series in existance having sold over 113 million copies in Japan alone.
The story revolves around the character Naruto, who’s parents died when he was only a baby. Naruto grew up being an outsider of his own village because of a demonic Nine tails fox that was sealed inside of him by the fourth Hokage; Minato. This nine tailed fox also known as Kuruma, nearly destroyed Naruto’s village many years ago and even though Naruto should be known more or less as a hero for encasing this disastrous beast, he is isolated and more or less hated.
This causes him to grow up simply trying to prove to people he is worthy of their attention. He initially pulls a lot of pranks but later finds purpose and meaning in becoming a ninja.
Being naturally not as gifted as some, he initially struggles greatly but through sheer will power and persistance becomes one of the finest shinobi the Leaf Village have ever known.
The entire series more or less revolves around Naruto and Sasuke, two best friends turned rivals due to a lot of history that is surrounding them.
One of the reasons Naruto is such a great anime, at least in my opinion is the amount of character depth and emotional diversity the series offers.
From the series there are also toys, books, clothes, outfits, video games, weapons, and much more.
